Braces aren't a big deal these days. Moreover, you will be really glad you got them.

Some of my friends faced dental/jaw problems later because they didn't get braces in high school & ended up having to wear them as adults for a longer period of time. Plus, their parents didn't pay for them.

My other friends are really glad they got them when they were younger because they didn't have to wear them as long.

Make sure you orthodontist think you have to have the metal ones instead of the ones with clear plastic. The ones with clear plastic are a little less obvious.

Look forward to having a great smile and better dental health for the rest of your life!

Hey, I'm not going to lie. Getting braces is a big deal but everyone will just have to get over it. I have seen many people who look gorgeous with braces. You'll look even better when you finally get them taken off. A lot of people a my school are still getting braces while others are finally getting them taken off. Braces are like glasses, they take some getting used to but after a while no one will look at you funny for having them. People will still want to date you and your friends if they are worth anything will still love you and be supportive. All I can say is good luck and go get em' girl!!!

Your teeth will look absolutely fantastic afterwards. It's completely normal for any kid your age to have braces, I know many 20-30 year olds with braces. They are not made for a certain age group, they are to make your teeth straighter and better.

Good luck!

it is all good in the hood gurlfreund!!!
listen...my mom saved for years to get me braces...when i was 13, i got braces!!! i was so happy!!!...why? because i had TERRIBLE TEETH!!! i was teased for years and cried for years because of my bad teeth-- little kids would run away because they thought i was a monster!!!...i had braces for more or less, 2 years--i kept up with them really well -- would have taken the average kid with braces whom neglects to stop chewing gum and ice etc and won't floss etc--i did everything i was told to...
now i have a beautiful smile, the kids love me, the boys love me, the girls respect me, and best of all, i love myself--i constantly look at my teeth everyday and --damn, i am just so thankful to my mom for saving up for years(the dentist said i was gonna have bad teeth when i was a kid)...and...once u get them on and stuff...u'll be fine!...i can't make u feel what i felt(still do)...but i hope that u can be grateful to ur parents and hopefully just take a few minutes to notice how much u have in ur life -- notice how lu cky u r...
and about the color combination -- i always thought it was cool getting to match the colors to the seasons and corresponding holidays!!!
have fun
xao
ps:lots of wimps complain that braces "hurt" when they tighten the wires -- well...it doesn't!!! WIMPS COMPLAINERS SISSIES!!!

Be grateful your parents can afford braces. Some kids have crooked teeth and their parents cannot afford braces.

I think the clear ones are almost unnoticeable, but you can get whichever ones make you feel better.

I had braces myself and I think that a girl with braces looks beautiful. Their smile is lovely. Imbrace this change. Don't let anyone tell you anything bad about your braces. Girls with braces are beautiful, really beautiful!!!

go with the braces.....

better to have straight teeth than crooked;

i went 4 yrs with them and thanked my mother til i was blue in the face

choose the right DDS, it makes a BIG difference

my best friend went through hell by not choosing the right DDS twice!!!!! she's looking for her 3rd DDS.

Good luck....
