In the DVD there is an alternate ending but I rented the movie from a movie machine thing and it didn't come with the 2nd disc. What was the alternate ending? I really want to know! The ending that was used was so horrible!

The alternate ending wasn't much different than the ending you saw. All they did was actually show those crazy people methodically breaking Nic Cage's legs (kinda reminded me of "Misery"). After he gets all burned up and the flaming remains of the Wicker Man fall, it just fades to black and credits roll.
I really don't know why in the world they felt the need to put "SHOCKING ALTERNATE ENDING! OMGWTFLOLZBBQ!!!1!11!11" on the DVD cover. Very misleading indeed.
