Well, it's pretty much the same pain.. HOWEVER.. Labour is more intense, and well... worse. I had a miscarriage at 12 weeks, I thought I was going to die in pain. Then I went through labour and well, it was just OUCHHHHH, and awful and the epidural just wasn't as great as everyone makes it out to be, for me anyway.. but I managed & lived! :)

I just miscarried yesterday. I first started to bleed, not to heavy, but enough to make me go to the hospital. When I was at the hospital, I started to have pains. When I came home the pain got so bad I couldn't even sleep. I have two children and all I kept saying to my husband was. It feels like I'm in labour but ten times worse. Just late last night I bled two big clots, and still I felt the pain. Today I went to the doctors and I'm still bleeding clots. They said if you can point out the pain it could be an etopic, but not likely. Misscarring can be a lot harder on the body, simply because you are not keeping track on the blood lose, when in the hospital, you keep track but not at home. You can loose a lot of blood when you miscarry, so keep a close watch on the bleeding.

I've had two miscarriages and both were pain that I personally wouldn't associate as being like labour. I found the pain more along the lines of menstrual cramps, painful ones.

My first one the pains lasted about 2 days, my 2nd one the pain lasted about 5 days and was more intense, possibly because I'd already had the first one and then a child in between.

I think you should be fine in a few days...just rest as vigorous activity can cause heavy bleeding.

If you weren't very far along, the cramping was probably very much like the early stages of labor; the uterus simply had to expell its contents, rather than forcing a full-term infant through the birth canal. Labor is painful; presuming you become pregnant again, don't worry, though - an epidural is safe for you AND your baby, and you won't feel a thing.

Typically a natural miscarriage is supposed to feel similar to period cramping, that's how it was for me. I don't think that it should be compatible to labor pains.

at 6 weeks it was just really bad cramps, at 18 weeks it was real labor- epidural and everything.

I MISCARRIED TWINS ,AT 3 MONTHS,AND THE PAIN WAS NO WHERE NEAR CHILDBIRTH.I HAD A LITTLE CRAMPING,LIKE I HAD STARTED MY PERIOD.
I HAVE NEVER HURT ANYWHERE NEAR AS MUCH AS I DID WHILE DELIVERING MY TWO SONS,(NATURAL BIRTHS)
