I am an intermediate rider (I can carve basically) and I am looking for a board that is not too advance for me, but that I can progress on as well (since I got a season pass and plan on going at leat 12 times this winter). I don't want to have to buy a new one next year just because I will get better. Any suggestions of snowboards for an intermediate rider that can be used to progress with too?!?!. Btw, my board length is 159cm :). Thanks!

The margin of difference in quality from one snowboard manufacturer to another is declining rapidly. That's not to say that one company doesn't make better boards than another, but it's less of an issue than it used to be.

Almost every company has at least a few models that are of good quality, and would suit your needs.

Some companies, however, have had an upper hand for quite some time, and deserve mention. These manufacturers can be counted on, no matter what board you buy from them, to make quality products that will last many years and allow you to progress on one deck. Among them, Gnu, Lib-Tech, Ride, Option, and NeverSummer. If you go with one of those, you can't go wrong.

I'm inclined to agree with D15. But, I would add K2 to the list as well. I would caution against going with Burton. They are a well known brand but tend to make a 30 day board.
A sweet setup can help take you to the next level, so I wouldn't worry too much about your level of riding when you're buying a board. However, do get a board that suits your style. For instance, get a directional board rather than a twin tip if you're more of a freerider than a park rat.
