I know I've been bashing Michigan the past few days.
But I'll be very objective about this answer. I've visited Ann Arbor several times for business trips and it was an incredible place to visit. Didn't have to lock the car and people really know how to drive in the snow! I toured the campus and got to walk the field. Drank at the Microbrewery and ate at some cool hole-in-the-wall Taco place (don't remember the name).
To me seemed like a great place. I can see why there is so much pride for Michigan.

First of all who told you that Michigan was prestigious? You should choose the school you attend based on your field of study. M.I.T. does not impress anyone in athletics, I'm not even sure if they have any. But they sure impress on the resume and that's all that counts. Attending a school that won an NCAA title will not cause employers to offer you more money.

First off, it's the University of Michigan, not Michigan University.
Second, I hope you don't like women, because there's a whole ton of dog meat in Ann Arbor. I'm not sure what it is, but it's got to be the center of butt-uglydom in the Western Hemisphere.

it somewhat is an impressive college, and the campus is extremely great and set beside an exquisite college city. great college all around (e.g., many solid majors/classes), and perfect college spirit and activities classes. it somewhat is somewhat removed from a important city (Detroit), which could make flying in/out of the section somewhat time-eating -- yet commonly used i will advise it rather.
