Decent. thinking Brits do not hate Americans, nor do decent, thinking Americans hate Brits. It is the ones (both sides of pond) who do not see or think past the immediate that appear to spout hatred of the other.
That has been my experience!

i think of the reality right it somewhat is ninety 5% of anybody from all counties have little to no difficulty with ninety 5% of anybody from all different international places. regrettably, you get the 5% inward finding bigoted types in all countries, and it somewhat is that this type of individual who draw's the final interest. Do maximum individuals of Brit's hate human beings - No. Having been in u . s . of america for quite a few months shifting around the East coast i will additionally say: Do American's hate Brit's - No. sure, you do get the ordinary American fool who believes their usa is the be-all and end-all, yet you get human beings like that during all international places. I admit that the shear loss of know-how many human beings have in direction of something of the international is immensely stressful. even however, most of the final human beings I surely have had the excitement of assembly have been American. I additionally discovered human beings to be the main hospitable human beings I surely have ever met whilst over there, with a actual activity in understanding the place i grew to become into from and why i desperate to come again to the U. You think its bad now? If Gordon Brown takes over the leadership of Government you'll hear the rumble in your sleep!
This is a country of discontent for many reasons. The war in Iraq is only one of them. We no longer have a say in how this country is run, and decisions are made ' on our behalf ' whether we like it or not, and they have an impact on everyone of us. Economically we are seriously effected by the war along with the number of imigrants. Now that Romania and Bulgaria are part of the European Union, this number will increase.. These well meaning hard working people nonetheless will take our jobs putting more of us on benefit. Whats the answer to all of this? A Leader who is prepared to dump political correctness and replace it with common sense, gaining control of the country and respect of its people. Giving the schools back to the British students and enforcing a code of behaviour by our standards that applies to everyone - We are too long being told what to do by outsiders pretending to be part of the community.

England is the best country in the WORLD to live in!! Freedom of speech, equality, tolerance. Its the tolerance of the English/British people that is being stretched, not hatred for the Country! There is a BIG differance!!!

It's not England a lot of us hate it's the way the country is being run,it is totally going to pot.No strong deterrent on crime, sentences not relating to crime committed, hospitals not being financed or run properly, schools struggling in many ways, too many do gooders, prices of necessary goods, poor housing, too many people being let into the country(all people, i am not racialist),not enough police on the beat(i've not seen one in about 3 years),too many designer goods, causing loss of values and higher crime, government paying too much attention to other parts of the world instead of sorting this country out and lots more.I know every country has it's problems but your own should take priority.
I'll get off my soap box now,go to bed and plan my escape.Good Night and Happy New Year(with a bit of luck)

I have two good friends in England, one in London one in Ware. We are all in our 50's. From what I can get out of our conversations, they are upset because the government involved them in the war in Iraq. They are disgusted with the high price of food, gas, cigarettes. Compared to American prices, it is much higher. Also, they get depressed because of the weather and there is really not a lot to do. There are many historic sites, beautiful countryside, but not a lot to do in terms of entertainment other than pubs i.e. no casinos, limited theme parks etc. They do not hate their country, they are rather bored. I for one would love to live in England, beautiful, quaint and healthcare!

English weather is amazing. Not too cold and not too hot.

Problem is that people have become too whiny after past 15 years of watching increasingly over-the-top soap dramas full of whiners, cheaters, backstabbers, and self-obsessed people - and now mould themselves in a mixture of the same whiney forms.

If that is what you think, then you are mixing with the wrong sort of people! Change your friends and acquaintances to people who are more like yourself, and are proud to be English and live in this country. There are plenty of us around.
