Not in the US. They consider the 70% of th US population which is of Hispanic decent from Europe, Mexicans. Technically, we are Caucasians. The Spanish language was derived from the Italians. The Spanish settled the US 450 years ago, that's why the Mexican Indian people speak Spanish instead of English.
The US Census is one of the most racist on the entire planet. I'm 1/2 Hispanic, a Cordova De Herrera who's heritage goes way back and women were allowed to own their own land. A very proud heritage. But, the "are you Mexican" question still comes up and is still something that needs to be worked on.
I saw a bumper sticker that really made me laugh. It said, "Not Hispanic, not Latin... Mexican!"
Very funny.
FYI, Caucasian is a scientific specification to identify a specific race of people. It has nothing to do with the color of your skin. The people from India, as brown as they are, are indeed... Caucasian. Look it up if you don't believe me.
Otherwise, if the Spanish derived from the Italians... then why are their not Italians being called Mexicans, too? I guess the old Spagetti Westerns show that they are. They film them in Spain and used a famous Italian Actor to play Mexican.
So, Indians or indiginous people of the US are not Caucasion. Hispanics of Western European decent who invaded and pillaged and raped and killed the Indians in the US until they converted them to catholocism are Caucasion.

Spaniards, Argentinians, Colombians, ...almost any with money...as soon as the Cubans make a few dollars, they are considered "caucasian."
In about 10 years, Mexicans will be considered Caucasian as well... its all a bunch of hooey...

I assume you're referring to Spaniards? Yes, they are Caucasian. If you look at a Spaniard, they are physically indistinguishable from Italians.
