I already asked my doctor she gave me the go ahead to exercise, but I want to know what I need to do besides walking, biking, and swimming.

I AM 12 WEEKS PREGNANT ALSO AND I ASKED MY OB CAUSE I AM A WORK OUT NUT I WORK OUT DAILY. AND I HAVEN'T CHANGED MY ROUTINE. DON'T DO ANYTHING NEW. IF YOU WORK OUT NOW AND ARE USE TO WALKING INTENSELY 3 MILES A DAY THEN KEEP DOING IT. DON'T OVER DO YOURSELF AND ALWAYS FOLLOW THIS ONE RULE IF YOU CAN'T TALK WHILE EXERCISING (WHILE PREGNANT OF COURSE) THEN YOU ARE DOING TOO MUCH. I WALK 2 MILES A DAY STATIONARY BIKE FOR 5 MILES AND LIFT LIGHT WEIGHTS. BUT I WAS DOING THAT FOR A YEAR BEFORE I GOT PREGNANT.

Well, being that it isn't summer swimming isn't always a convenient option... My pregnancy went through the summer so I swam a lot, and it made me feel great physically. I would recommend doing a good bit of stretching (your lax muscles and joints need a warming up during pregnancy to aviod injury), and maybe light strength exercises to keep your body fit for the big day.. I have had an EXTREMELY smooth pregnancy thus far (36 weeks) and I like to credit it to my bodys physical shape, and especially my stretching and relaxing exercises... Good luck with everything, and I hope your pregnancy is just as smooth... Congratulations

Anything you normally did before, you can keep doing, except high impact things. Now is NOT the time to introduce new stresses on the system. And remember, great health for you and your child comes from a BALANCE in your diet, rest, and exercise. STAY AWAY FROM FAST FOOD, AND ALL SODA, especially diet soda right now.. As well as the normal list of no-no's. Congratulations, and best of luck.

Technically you don't "need" to do any specific exercise yet. If you did it before, you can do it now.

I had a friend who played tennis up until the day her water broke.

If you want to do it, then do it! Try prenatal yoga, but watch out for pilates. You can't do sit-ups anymore.

Nothing, I was too extremely sick to do anything unfortunatley, But the best thing you can do is swim or walk. Dont do anything to strenuous.

I did walking, swimming..... no biking here, scared i would fall or something.. or too much pressure in that area... and i did low impact aerobics.

You can do anything you like. As long as it comfortable.
