See, I have basketball practice tomorrow, and I don't have room in my backpack for my basketball shoes, and my mom says that I can't wear them off the court cuz it will ruin the treads or something, but also I need to break them in cuz last game someone asked me why I didn't have basketball shoes, which is how I figured out that I needed them, and we have another game soon. Also I don't even know whether I need them cuz I am just on the JV team and I am not even that good.

Firstly if you play. You need them to protect your ankles. Turn or sprain one, and you will know all about. Pain!!!
I wore basketball shoes for about 3 yrs solid when at school. No Problems. It's good to break them in but, of course, they do ware out faster....

As everyone above said, of course you can wear them. I recommend that you clean them when you get to the court, though. You want the rubber to be "squeaky" and not full of dirt. I recommend any kind of soap (dish soap, hand soap or anything that "cuts grease") and water to get the oil off of the shoe bottoms you pick up from walking in parking lots and they should squeak like crazy when they dry. Make sure you get the soap all of the way off or you will definitely slip! Rocks are also bad, as someone else said, but you do need to break them in to be comfortable. You won't be able to concentrate on playing well if your feet hurt. Hope this helps! - Kris B.

I would advice you not to wear your bball shoes off the court if other stuff got on them when u do where them during a game all the stuff trapped in ur shoes is gonna cause u to slind around more. Also it could really ruin a expensive new pair of sneakers.

well if you wear the shoes for a day it wont where the grips off. but while in basketball season dont wear them just to go out places becuase that will wear them down plus rocks will get stuck and it will ruin the floor also. good luck

They will get scuffed but what do you want? There just shoes!! it's not like you have a collectors item on your feet, do you? Ok then DON'T use them OUTSIDE. It's only common sense kid. I'm a freakn grown man and I buy shoes for my kids. So I guess I might have some idea, YA THINK? Ask your daddy!!

Air Conditioning
Hi there, I just bought a house and there is a return air vent that sits visibly when you walk in that I would like to move. I have a handy man and his friend who used to do heating who say they can cover up the existing hole properly and then instead of another big intake vent, they would put in two smaller ones (like one in the kitchen and one in the living room).

your realy not supposed to wear your shoes outside of the court, you should have a seperate pair, sandals are best. ya wearing them outside ruins them after awhile. to break them in then just wear them around the house.

it will scuff them up if you play tennis on the court or drag your feet. Other than that you have nothing to worry about.
