Be honest & realistic with your self and your abilities. You're not going to become a world famous musician overnight.

As I'm constantly reminding my daughter - Change what you can change, Accept what you can't change & Be smart enough to know the difference.

You can't change a bully - but you can change how you respond to bullies.

I'm going to agree with topguntony.

DO something. Something hard, Something you didn't think you could do.

Telling yourself you are a good person is all well and good, but accomplishing something is where REAL confidence comes from.

That is how basic training works in the Army. They get you out there, give you a chalenge (like a climbing wall) that you look at and you KNOW you can't do it... then the Drill Sergeant gets in your face and the next thing you know you are over that wall! After that you go "Hey, I DID it! I didn't think I could, but I did it!"
When you see a soldier and you can see the self-confidence and pride they have, that's why.

So set yourself a hard and difficult goal, and then go accomplish it. After that you won't have to tell yourself anything, you will KNOW that you can do it.

I build confidence by doing new things for the purpose of learning and finding things I like. I also find that if you compliment yourself for the little stuff, then it gets easier. For instance, dealing with depression means that some days, the act of getting out of bed and staying out of bed, is a huge accomplishment.

The catch here is that part of being self-confident is not worrying whether other people notice how confident you are.

Start by looking in the mirror and learning to love the person looking back. Confidence I feel, begins when we learn to love ourselves. When you do then you can give love back. I believe we are our own worst critics, if we learn how to accept ourselves, than we can accept others and be less judgmental.

Respect yourself, don't keep putting yourself down. Tell yourself you're not as bad as you think you are.
