I am currently 16 and attending high school. I got a problem, I am graduating early in a few months at 17 and will be moving out of my house. Sadly, my parents will be moving away from the area for a few months so I will have no means to contacting them in person.

I don't know what would be good steps at getting a job, apartment and all that. Basically, how to live. This may be an easy question for a lot of you, but its hard for me.

Here are some facts...

1) No car, no job, very little cash
2) I want to have a job that pays enough for life insurance and to live a secure and safe life, something that pays 2000 a month or more.
3) I DON'T want to go into the Military, this what my parents are trying to force me into and offer no more suggestions.

I would like tips on what to buy first like what type of apartment, what services I should buy, what furniture to buy, what to do, etc.And some tips on life.

I really want to succeed and become a success without going into the airforce!

Unfortunately most people cannot enter into contracts with persons under 18 (like landlords for apartments & stuff).
I am very sorry that your parents are abandoning you before you are of age.
Believe it or not, the Air Force is an excellent place to get an education, I ended up making $30 an hour after I got out , but even getting in there under 18 might be a problem.
You best speak to your school counseler and a social worker as soon as possible . Some solutions take time and if you wait too long to talk to a counselor you may end up in the (ughhhhhh) army.
You have my prayers

PS: regarding pay, most entry level jobs will pay the new fed minimum which is now $7.50 and hour. That comes out to $300 /week or $1200 / month and few of those come with health insurance. Also that $1200 is BEFORE taxes so you will only get about a $1000 per month.
This is rarely enough to rent an apartment anyway, which is why most kids under 21 have roommates.

Before shooting down the military, you have to look at what they offer. I graduated high school and had high hopes of making it big with a get rich quick scheme but realized that it wouldn't work shortly after trying it. I joined the Navy and received 2 years of schooling and a 7500 dollar bonus for signing my name. I won't lie about it, the military is hard to deal with but if you make it, it will pay off in the long run. I now run an electronics shop and bring in more money than most people i know. The military will take care of you. You will get a guaranteed paycheck, free medical treatment, food, a place to live and training to get a job when you have fulfilled your obligation.

You may want to try it, what do you have to lose?
