I just moved into a new room in Barcelona Spain. I really need internet access for work, but the apartment doesn't have anything set up. Is it posible to personally sign up for w wireless net work? Is there like an agency that will set up a secure hotspot for my computer with a code or something?

If you are unable to get a DSL line or a Satalite connection with Internet into your apartment then your best bet is to contact your cellphone service provider and ask them if they provide any wireless internet services.

If you don't have an uncrypted hotspot nearby you need to contract an internet service (a fast ADSL connection on these days). There are plenty of good companies.

Look to their websites for more infomation. Most of them will give u a free wi-fi router.

Tele2, one of the cheapest.
Jazztel, 20 mb/s connection for a good price
Ya.com
Orange
Telefonica, maybe more expensive but the fastest in installations

They will send u the router and the manuals to configure it with a telephone for technical support

I'm catalan and an old internet user, these are the biggest internet companies.

Most of them give u free national telephone calls, and some of them give u digital tv through ADSL
