All-Time
Maddux, Johnson, Zito, Schmidt

In 2007 however, i would go with
1) Barry Zito- He's the youngest of the four. He has put up over 200 innings in each of the last 6 years. His ERA has been consistently in the mid to upper 3's. Zito does not overpower anyone. His fastball, at best, clocks at 89 MPH, but he lives and dies with a solid change and a wicked 12-to-6 curve.
2) Jason Schmidt- Of the four he has had the hardest problem staying healthy the last few years. But, he still has an overpowering upper 90's fastball, and a very devastating slider.
3) Greg Maddux- Of the four he is definitely the softest thrower. But that is what he's used his entire career. His two seamer is very lively and his veteran know-how is shared in the club house...something some veteran pitchers arn't willing to do (namely Roger Clemens). He'll give you 30 starts and he'll win his fair share. Definiely hall of fame bound.
4) Randy Johnson- In his prime, the most overpowering pitcher in baseball. But now, with his velocity free-falling he is not nearly as intense. Although the Big Unit would make a quality middle of the rotation starter now, he wouldn't be much better. If he's still in New York he will win a lot more games (HIGH POWERED OFFENSE) but if he moves to Arizona he will probably see better numbers pitching (More favored environment).
VERY GOOD QUESTION!!!!!!

Dude wins the Cy Young and he cant even make it on this list. Anyway, its Zito, Maddux, Schmidt, and RJ. Remember the 9 inning, 86 pitch 2 hitter Maddux had against San Fran last year? The dude can still pitch, and Schmidt cant stay healthy. Zito by the way is one of the slowest pitchers in the league with his fastball topping at 86 on good days.

1) Barry Zito
--He's the youngest and got a nasty curveball.
2) Randy Johnson
--The Big Unit still got some stuff left in him for this year with the D-Backs.
3) Jason Schmidt
--He's still pretty dominant and got his stuff.
4) Greg Maddux
--He's getting old and should retire soon after a good long career.

schmidt zito maddux johnson... schmidt has gone a lil downhill but is still good enough to crank out great numbers.... zito is the same but is still very good... maddux i mean cmon isnt what he used to be but still a decent mid rotation pitcher... and johnson has good w-l record but that is mostly due to luck because his era is very high and his statistics have gone down since being on the yankees... whom he gets a ton of run support with which in turn affects his win to loss ratio
