Space.com is a good place to start -- they have a free daily e-newsletter, too. Great for the space enthusiast who does something else as a day job. Articles on all kinds of space-related issues, from news of the shuttle and ISS to advances in engineering and the latest about the X Prize.
For more geeky--I mean, er, serious science and engineering content, the cream of the crop has to be the NASA/JPL Web site:
http://www.jpl.nasa.gov/
The content changes regularly (in fact the main image has changed three times since I started writing this answer :-), and they frequently have interesting downloads including multimedia, large images, and -- in what has to be one of the weirdest, coolest MP3s ever -- recordings of the sounds made by signals from deep space, as recorded on the instruments on a space probe and played back as audio.
Browse both of those sites and you'll come up with enough bookmarks to fill a thumb drive.
Live long and prosper!

Here's a site that gives you a new, cool, picture of space stuff each day:
http://antwrp.gsfc.nasa.gov/apod/astropix.html
along with an astronomer's explanation of the photograph. Within the explanation there's plenty of links.
