Do we pay more and more money for less and less entertainment on Cable, Dish TV, etc? Is this why outfits like Netflix and Blockbuster are so successful? TV sucks, and I could very happily live without it, but I couldn't live without the internet...

Yeah I pay $60 a month for directv and lots of times, there's just nothing to watch on tv--even with all those channels! What really irks me is that there are so many infomercials on these days. I can't stand those. I'd rather see repeats of some of my favorite shows.

Personally I refuse to pay for cable...if I have to watch something then there is always my parents house to go to or a friends....otherwise its not worth the price...instead I spend about the same amount or less that I would for monthly fees on cable to buy dvds that I actually like and will have for a long time and can watch when I want! The other advantages of buying dvds is there are no commercials...and if im watching a tv series...I dont have to wait until next week to see what happens next!! I can just go to the next episode!

TV pickings are very slim. There's not a lot I enjoy watching. Most programmes I watch I just download. But, as the channels come with the cable I use for internet, I am more or less paying for more than what I require. Unfortunately, it's an all or nothing arrangement.

yes - I hate all the money i spend to end up with a bunch of paid for tv programming. a rip off in deed. I just signed up for netflix. That way I can see all the movies I want with out paying for all those pay per views that I really don't want.

Me none of the crap on tv seems worth watching lately. In fact i have been bugging my mom 2 get netflix for the last week.

I watch the same 3 channels and i pay 45 a month just for cable its crazy but they know well pay it soooo...

I agree that cable is way too expensive. That's because it's basically a monopoly but I've got to have it because basic network tv sucks.

I only have basic Cable and it sucks big time. So As i get a job ill gladly spend my money to get ON-Demand , even though i have DSL
