Well many people, me included, always wait until the last minute to get things done. It seems to be the only way I can do it. If I start early, I get sick of what I'm doing and finish it poorly. I need that tension and edge to make what I do.

The technique I use is first to write everything down on paper. Since it's no a grammar test and just for me, it doesn't have to be perfect. I want to know what I'm doing and the steps I'm going to take to do it. Breaking down things into steps is a very powerful tool, at least for me. Then like that ad says, I JUST DO IT!

VERY NICELY AND COURTEOUSLY ask for an extension.
And thank the teacher regardless of whether or not they give it to you.

Hope for the best!
