How can I repair water damage to new coffee table veneer?

Child set wet hat on new coffee table -all day - and now oak veneer is rough in area approximately 5# in diameter. Can I fix it?

Yes, very simply. Get a color crayon that matches the veneer of the coffee table. Now take the color crayon and color the stain using short bursts.
