50 states X 2 per state = 100 senators

The above answers are correct -- 2 senators for each state, and the total is 100.

However, as a resident of the District of Columbia, I would like to point out that we do not have representation in Congress. We don't have a senator! While we have a Congresswoman -- Eleanor Norton -- she does not have the right to vote in Congress.

Our "state" motto is "Taxation Without Representation"!

In the US, each state is represented by 2 Senators in the US congress. There are 50 states = 100 Senators. Many states have 'Senators' in their state legislatures. I won't pretend to know how many of those there are.
