'The Killshot' - is a series of powerful, deadly solar flares which will be impacting the Earth in the near future!
The effects of Killshot are seen as causing such an extreme amount of destruction and loss of life that a large portion of RV data collection resources has been allocated for study and analysis.
In the Killshot DVD, Major Dames presents all of the data that he and his professional team have amassed, looking through time, in an attempt to piece together the global effects of this catastrophic geophysical event.
In the presentation, Killshot precursor events and the initial solar flashpoints are placed on a timeline. Also, areas of the Earth that will be most affected are pointed out, and potential safe havens described.
All of us like to believe that an event such as Killshot would never happen - especially in our own lifetime. And yet…humankind has no control over our star, the Sun.

Yes it is possible!
There is a possibility that it could burn the earth, but at this distance a direct burn is unlikely. I would be more inclined to believe that a very powerful solar flare could ignite our atmosphere and in turn burn the earth. But anything is possible! The sun is HUGE and VERY powerful! Many sunspots alone are the size a couple dozen earths.

No! Its been blazing away for 4.5 billion years without char broiling the earth so it ain't not never gonna do it! At some God-awful distant future time it will expand to become a red giant and roast the earth but there won't be any killer flares. Sleep in peace this fine night.

Theres always a slim posibility that maybe under the worst circomstances such as a huge solar storm and the earth going out of orbit but it's very unlikely. Either way the sun is a star so it will explode someday, but the earth will probably arlready be destroyed by them by some nuke or running out of natural ressources. So i guess it is possible but a long, long time from now im talking like hundreads of millions of years.

I belive it is possible based on a stephen Baxter / Aurther C Clark Science fiction book Sunstorm, where an exposive solar burst does cause major damage to the earth. I do place faith in these authors for their books to be scientificly plausible
But other research on Solar Flares leads me to belive it is highly improbable.

When the hydrogen in the sun's core is exhausted, helium fusion will continue in the core, and hydrogen fusion in the outer layers of the sun, increasing its diameter. As this happens, it will eventually grow to the size of the orbit of Mars, enveloping the Earth and the other three inner planets.
Fortunately, this is not likely to occur for at least 5 billion years.

Not hundreds of millions of years, Katrina, billions of years, on the order of 6 billion. At around that time the sun will be entering into its last hurrah as it becomes a red giant, vaporizing mercury, venus, earth, and possibly mars, before finally exhausting every bit of energy it has, to die cold and black and float endlessly in space.

not at this distance... some solar flares can screw around with cellular communication because of the radiation they throw off, but nothing that would singe the planet

All things are possible, It's just that all things are not always true that's all, most of it is simply fear mongering.
