In every chemical reaction this occurs
Reactants --> Products
This Justifies that a reaction has a transition of electrons or a transfer there of between different molecules/ atoms for a reaction to occur.

A is incorrect because the state of matter could stay the same in the reactants even if products are formed.

B is incorect because a "net release of free energy" means that the reaction always has to be exothermic( in which energy is released) but this is not always the case. There are endothermic reactions where the net is consumation of free energy.

C is incorrect because the energy in molecules can stay the same but be recombined to form products.
