The price of gas dropped because of the warm winter we are experiencing in the United States. The demand for fuel is much lower than normal.

Check your premises.

The price drop occurred when the strict rules for distribution of 'designer' fuel for the SUV driving nut jobs in California were suspended after Katrina along with a projected drop in demand.

Lower prices are lagging indicators, so you can look at something that happened on say, December 1 and say that the price on December 2 is the result.

Bio fuel is fake. It may someday become 10, 20, 30% of our gas consumption, but the economics of production will always keep it below that of a genuine alternative fuel.

It may supplement our future use, but will never be a replacement. A replacement must be plentiful and cheap. In the US, that leaves coal and nuclear. I like both.
