Right now I am in high school and I'm very interested in acting and is the thing i want to be my career in the future. I also currently live in IL and hopefully over the next couple of summers I can prepare myself to go to a college that has an acting program by taking acting/improv classes. Right now my strengths are in comedic acting, but hopefully I can improve on my dramatic. Also does anyone know any affordable agents and that are not a scam?

Probably two of the best that come to mind are Northwestern University in Evanston, IL and the University of Cincinnati Conservatory of Music. Both have produced some great talent! If you are a member of the International Thespian Society, look in Dramatics magazine for summer classes at schools close to you. They also are a great reference for the best dramatic and comedic schools in the nation.

DePaul is good, but I would go to University of Chicago or Northwestern University for performing arts. Northwestern is a little more relaxed and set back, but it's still right next to Chicago, so you'd probably be happy there. I think. Maybe. Anyway, I'd go there if they had the majors I want.

in IL - Depaul

Here are some of the top undergrad acting programs in the country:
Julliard
NYU
SUNY Purchase
Carnagie Mellon
Boston Universtiy
Emerson

if you're serious about acting, go to a program where you will receive a BFA. it's never too early to start working on your audition. start looking for material now.

Southern Illinois University in Carbondale has an excellent theater program.

Real agents are not an expensive scam. If an agent demands $ upfront to represent you they are not legitimate!
