You could start off with Rites of Spring.
Theyre considered the first emo band
They also happen to be real emo(tive hardcore)
Some other emo bands:
Beefeater, Embrace, Fire Party, Gray Matter, Ignition, The Hated, Moss, Icon, Nation of Ulysses, Rain, Rites of Spring, Shudder To Think

listen to some Greeley Estates. Not 100% emo, but they're a great band and you'll probably like them.
