Don't say Iraq, because that is actually bad for us in the long run. Saddam was an ********, but he did not allow his country to harbor terrorism. He was an authoritarian, and terrorism was a threat to his power. Bush is the President of the United states, not the world, so what has he done for our country? I am asking this seriously and non-bipartisan because I am interested in what people think he has done for us.
p.s. I completely agree with invading afghanistan, the taliban DID harbor terrorists and needed to be stopped, but they are taking over agin because we are too focused on Iraq.

To date, he has not done one GOOD thing for this country. I cant blame him in entirety, his party spent 12 years playing get Clinton and did not accomplish anything either.
12 years for a 15 min BJ! What an accomplishment!

To be honest, war is big business. It DOES boost the economy. Many people don't believe that but it does. It keeps people with jobs, and creates new jobs. The car manufactures are making Humvees, and military vehicles......weapons' manufactures are making weapons......plus there are ammunition plants that are working around the clock......civilian contractors in the Middle East and Afghanistan.....countless companies that are supplying the US governments with various supplies......from cooking oil, toilet paper, cleaning supplies, lumbar, motor oil, to food products and insect spray, ect. The bad thing about the war in Iraq and Afghanistan, is that we can't win a politically correct war. War is just that.....war. As soon as the media gets out of it, and as soon as Bush quits running the war by the opposition, then things will be done quickly. Best of luck to you.

1. Tax cuts that brought the economy back from minor recession.
2. Two invasions following 9/11 creating democracy for 55 million.
3. Got 2 S.C justices approved who understand the Founders intent.
4. Re-organized US military to be super fast and mobile.
5. Re-organized the FBI and CIA and created Homeland Security to focus and combat terrorism.
6. Drastically improved our ability to find and remove illegal aliens (71,000 in 2006)
7. Packed the federal judiciary with EXCELLENT judges.

In the long run, I think he will precipitate a swing toward the left, which is needed to restore some balance to our 2 party system.

He's giving conservatism a really bad name. Keep it up, Jaworj.

ok i googled "bush accomplishments" and got a list on this anti-liberal site

http://www.boycottliberalism.com/Bush.htm

After reviewing this list, compiled by sush supporters...I can say....not a whole frgn lot. A lot of proclaiming marginally important holidays..approving military spending, speeches...

There are a couple bills he signed promoting child safety.....thats good!

However i dont think there are a lot of accomploshments for 7 years in office

I'm sure any good thing he has done for this country has been disregarded since his biggest thing is the war. But you must remember that he cant make any changes by himself, and without congress backing him up (which they dont seem to be) then absolutely nothing can get done. not to say he has any good ideas...

I think he has brought attention to the imperative need of all voters to vote for issues, rather than spin generated by special interest groups, PACs and other non-democratic forums.

I think he has demonstrated that sometimes, when we seek security as a nation, we must NEVER turn to the government, but rather ourselves, for direction. NEVER trust the government's "good intentions."

medicare drug prescription program for the elderly was ok... not perfect, but an improvement overall...

afghan invasion, as you said, was solid...

tax cuts are nice... I don't exactly agree with the way they were done, or with some of the affects they are having... but just having an extra $100 bucks is ok...

that's about it as far as I can tell...

Good things and Bush should never be used in the same sentence unless it is :

"George Bush jnr was beaten to death by a hostile crowd who said it was a good thing"
