You'd be guilty of a civil rights violation.
Equal employment opportunity laws prohibit religious discrimination in hiring and promotions.
Plain and simple.

That depends on the job, the type of work, and whether the religious activity is a contradiction to the work required to be performed.
People think that it is an absolute that you cannot fire a person because of their religion, and in most cases this is true, but it is not an absolute.
A good example of this is a private Catholic school teacher that was fired for making a public statement that she is an Atheist and does not believe in Catholicism. She didn't get her job back and ended up being ordered to pay the school's legal expenses.
Another good example is a North Carolina case where it was ruled that if any religious activities take place in the workplace, they must not be disruptive to the other workers. Praying at work was listed as acceptable, but leaving cards on people desks each morning that had verses from the bible was not.

you could be sued personally and also the company you work for.
I have heard horror stories of people who just fill out applications and than sue the companies and that is their job and they make more money that I do working a real job
Do you know you can be sued if you ask someone if the own a car to get to work ? you need to ask if they have transportation to get to work. oh and so many other loopholes

it incredibly is the challenge with stupid Creationists, it is the two you think technological understanding that existence stepped forward (on an identical time decrease out God even however technological understanding makes no remark on God), or you think the Bible and shelter it to the factor of finished dishonesty. i think in evolution, yet you may not say that I push God out of the image, technological understanding would not try this. and additionally you look employing the word "mutant primates" as though to place the assumption into human beings's heads that early hominids as much as us is SO unnatural and freakish. it incredibly is cheating in my techniques, yet forgive if i think wrongly of you there. Now as for "do away with different species competing for materials?", what are you speaking approximately? people have been the dominant species, we elect not compete for something. there is largely one species of Human, so what are speaking approximately? additionally, the "survival of the fittest" contest refers to survival against the the climate of nature, the flexibility to reproduce rapid sufficient in a changing international to guarantee the survival of a species, having close to not something to do with "warlike" opposition for materials. Did you even think of whilst typing out this question?

you can't do that..
you CAN decide that you don't like the way s/he combs his/her hair...or the way they answered questions in the interview.
best is...."sorry, you were not chosen.
Thank you for your interest in the position"
or if you want to be setting yourself up for a lawsuit....tell them what YOU said..
