-All are encouraged to respond- this question is for data gathering percentiles, so "no" answers will get counted. I will post a tally of answers after results are in, for those who are interested. I am asking this question because I am interested in seeing how respondents compare to published statistics.
-Was the rape by an acquaintance or a stranger? Was it once or recurring?
-Did the rape get reported to authorities?
-Does your professional work bring you in contact with people who would have been raped (criminal justice, law enforcement, social work, women's health, psychiatry, etc.)?
-was the rape victim a child or adult? (assuming age 18 for adult status)

To answer my own questions:
-yes, I know several ; self; 5 family members, 13 friends; 3 were men; almost half were children when it occurred, for 4 it was recurring, for years.
My profession does not bring me in contact with people who would be in this position.
Only 2 cases were brough to trial, both because the victims were government employees
