What is normal??? How long have you been having periods? I would guess for about 2 years. I knew a girl when we were about that age that had pain every month.

Short answer is YES, this is probably normal for Americans. I went to acupuncture for pinched nerves and along with my neck pain, he "fixed" my 5 day period with 3 days of pain to a 3 day period with less than one day of pain. According to him, women should not have more than one day of pain and 3 days of flow. So now, I think only one day of pain per month is "normal". Put heat on your lower back, for the pain. Also massage or "accupressure" the ovaries from the front, where the pain usually occurs. Take whatever you take for a headache for a few days. If it is not better, I would suggest acupuncture. It really does not hurt. And if you go when you ARE in pain, you will notice the difference immediately!
