Well no. But yes it is a high price to pay. That sounds about the average price part and labor time. Sorry but they didn't

If you are referring to the keyless entry transmitter, you may purchase one for significantly a lot less on E-bay and take it to the dealership to get programmed. Don't foget to inquire the year of the transmitter before you purchase it as some year models are required to be programmed by the dealeship, others can be programmed yourself with a manual (comes with purchase),others you must enlist the services of an auto-locksmith, unless you have a working remote, which you don't. If you are talking about the remote start/anti-theft system, I recommend that you research the system by calling other providers and asking if it requires programming. What it sounds like to me is that they are doing the programming for nothing at all, but telling you that it cost 65.00 for purchase and 71.00 to programm because they want your business.I don't know what your key model is but I compared the price and I found one for 125.00. Click here to try to price your particular key.

If your remote is separate from the key, the average price is $50 each. As for the programming, that's up to the individual dealer. At my store, we charge $15.

given todays prices, I'd say your well off. get the new remote and pay the program fee. you could be paying a lot more somewhere else. besides, dealers, for the most part, charge outrageous fees on a regular basis. sounds to me like you found a decent dealer to work with

No, this is about right. That is actually pretty cheap for the remote, labor is about the same as anywhere else. As far as the reprogramming goes, you cant do it yourself with this kind. I have had several. I believe that they have to charge a 1 hour minimum labor fee, so that is why they charge the full 71 dollars. They cant make enough money if they charge you for 15 minutes worth of time. Same goes with everyone. HOPE THIS HELPS!!

The price of the remote sounds about right. They might have worked with you a little on the charge to re-program it.

I had a Ford dealer, Beasley Ford in York PA, charge me almost 600 dollars to replace 4 spark plugs and 4 spark plug wires. They also wanted to do 1200 dollars of work to solve the hesitation that was caused by water in my fuel (I used dry-gas instead). As far as I can tell, all dealers give the impression (in my humble opinion) of being crooks.

nicely, i assume the "vast 3" might desire to do what they might desire to do to boost revenues and to ward off financial ruin. they might desire to restructure the final way they see extra wholesome to extra helpful their undertaking. i think of it is distinctly sensible. think of roughly it, you not in undemanding terms save on working fees yet, you besides might have your consumers sorting out different lines to boot what they have been searching for. All on the convenience of one lot, it will cut back out all the making use of around searching for a automobile. i does not think of by doing so as that the fee could improve. in step with danger stay the comparable. i don't see how they had benefit by increasing the value ticket value thinking how the industry is doing. they does not sell lots. it is not like revenues are hovering besides as issues are. They actual does not be in the event that they jacked the fee up. Restructuring or Downsizing even if you opt for to be conscious it makes complete experience to me. that is extra helpful than submitting financial ruin. I understand in asserting so as which potential countless human beings may well be out of a job and that i've got faith sorry for them. each multi million greenback company even the smaller ones might desire to restructure or downsize sometimes to make a bleak undertaking extra helpful. that's a element of company you win some, you lose some. i'm hoping for his or her sake that by them doing this that their revenues enhance. Take care.

he certainly is making money it.... not sure he is "ripping you off", you could buy the part online and save some money, but you will still need to have it programmed. Did you buy the car there? maybe you can get the Sales manager you worked with to help with a discount... but it probably won't be too much
