My boyfriend and I had moved our computer into our room from our living room a few months ago cuz we were having too many problems with our other room mates and just people coming over to visit who would want to use it. Basically we started getting a lot of viruses. Anyways, we have this 18 year old kid staying in the room across from us and he is always asking to use our computer and i let him mostly cuz i dont wanna seem mean. Now its just bugging me cuz he is a stranger to me and i dont like him in my bedroom, let alone anyone in my bedroom really other then my boyfriend and I. How do i tell him this in a nice way?? HELP ME PLEASE!!!

I already have it password protective so when im not home, my computer is either off or not logged in. This only happens when we are home. I just don't enjoy trying to relax in my room when there is some kid I don't know in here using my computer.

You don't have to be "nice" to everyone, you know. You can just be frank with him and tell him this: "I can't let you do that anymore. I'm not comfortable with others using my computer in my space. Try the local library, OK?" (dont' apologize), then lock your door so he can't use it while you're away. You created this "monster" so let this be a lesson to you that you can only be taken advantage of if you allow it. Godloveya.

Take the computer out of the room. Or if that ain't an option , just be honest with him if he wantes to use the computer and download virues even if it is a accident he is gonna have to pay for the charge to fix it. Or you could set the computer wuth a passwaord to keep him off. keep tellin him you forgot the password. Or you could say next time you go in the raoo, " oh my god what are you doing in my bedroom "nicely and tellin that you have privater things in there. or you could hire me and i will tell him straigh up how things el be, ya know LOL

well my first tought is if you don't like the rules he is laying out, move. And I sorta agree if there are 3 ppl living in an apartment its only fair all three split rent. Not trying to be mean but thats what makes sence to me.

Tell them it's off limits or use a password to protect it. You can also suggest they get their own computer.

here, i want to tell you something , before my computer is in the living room that's why i let you used it anytime you want but now its in my bed room its not good for me to bring someone inside its a private already , don't you think of it? i hope you ll understand .

Please don't use the computer anymore, we're having some security problems. Also -- just password the machine and it will resolve all of it.

Just explain to him that you charge for other people to use your computer! Internet Cafes do this and this should deter him...
