oops i totally screwed up this question I was more wondering if you can get a yeast infection if youre NOT a virgin. Well I guess either way you guys answered it. My sister was afraid to tell my mom she had one because a friend told her that you can only get them if you've had sex before so she was scared to tell my mom because she didnt want her to know she isnt a virgin. THANKS

Yeast infections can happen to anybody, any age, whether sexually active or not. One common cause is antibiotic use -- it can upset the body's natural pH balance, lowering the acid level, and the result can be a yeast infection (most frequently vaginal, but sometimes oral -- a condition called thrush). Yeast infections are also common in diabetic, pregnant, or obese women. One other common cause: lack of ventilation in the genital area. One trick that helped me: if you wear pantyhose, cut a slit in the crotch to let air circulate.
Treatments for vaginal yeast infections are available over-the-counter in several different forms -- ask the pharmacist for advice on which to choose.

Whether the girl is a virgin or not does not matter. Anyone can get a yeast infection.

I had my first and only one when I was a virgin.

No. It can happen to any woman. Example: you cann get yeast infection if you go to the beach and you are with your wet bikini all day. The humidity causes the yeast infection. It doesn't have nothing to do with the virgin issue.

No. Yeast infections have nothing to do with virginity.

No you don't. Yeast infections don't prefer virgins.
You can help one by taking a sitz bath in vinegar and water. 1/2 cup of vinegar to 2 Gallons water.
Or use a vinegar/water douche.

no not at all, you can get a yeast infection whenever there is a pH imbalance in your vagina. this can come from antibotics, having sex with a dirty partner, waring unbreathable panites or not cleaning well. all woman at some point or another can get them. the best thing to do if you think you have one is attempt to treat it at home with the creams and injections, the imbalance comes from a lack of good bactirias and the yeasts overgrowth due to lack of bacterial control. good luck and call a doctor if you think there is a problem
