I have 6 and still am extrememly territorial with all of mine. And I will stay that way as long as they live. Too many bad people out there.....even scared to let certain family members watch them. My oldest is 9, youngest is 1 and total probably my kids have been watched 10 times and 5 of those times is when I had a child.
Dreading the teenage years when they want to go off and be independent!!!

When I first had my baby I was very territorial with her...even towards the father. I did not want anyone else to hold her except for my mother. Now my baby is four months old..I do not like to leave her with anyone for more then a few hours. She has not spent the night and only two people have watched her besides myself and her dad. I dont want her out of my site for very long and I will be extremelly careful who I let babysit her as she gets older. She is my most precious love and I want to make sure that she is treated well.

Of course! That is the way nature intended it to be. Once you become mother, you become a lioness! Your instincts are kicked into high gear when it comes to your children. I would do anything to protect my children from threats, perceived or otherwise. So you do feel possessive and territorial with your children; you made them (with some divine help), you carried them, you gave them life and will sustain them from your body with your milk. Especially when you are a new mom with a brand new baby, it is very hard to take someone trying to tell you what to do, or insinuate themselves into your role as mother.

Absolutely. It was hard to let other people hold them as babies and care for them as infants and toddlers.
Having a nanny is nice but it does make you jealous that she is home with your kids in your house all day.

Yes, I think we have all felt that way. My kids are already becoming grandparents but I still feel that way most of the time...mess with my kids & you're messing with me. It's a perfectly normal feeling because it makes sure that you want to protect this very special little person.

I JUST RECENTLY HAD A BABY GIRL AND i HATE IT WHEN OTHER PEOPLE COME UP TO ME IN THE STORE OR WHERE EVER AND THEY TOUCH MY BABY. i DON'T KNOW WHERE THEIR HANDS HAVE BEEN. THEY COULD BE SICK OR THEY COULD HAVE JUST USED THE BATHROOM, I DON'T KNOW. PEOPLE THINK THAT JUST BECAUSE THEY SEE A LITTLE BABY, YOU WANT THE ATTENTION. I DON'T WANT ANY ATTENTION FROM ANYONE WHEN IT COMES TO MY CHILD. I JUST A SOON NOT LET ANYONE TOUCH HER BUT ME, HER DADDY, AND FAMILY. OF COURSE, IF THEY WASH THEIR HANDS FIRST!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I AM CONSTANTLY THINKING, "OH MY GOD, DON'T DROP MY BABY!" "WATCH HER HEAD!!" IT'S A NATURAL REACTION I THINK. I'M SURE THAT AS TIME GOES BY, THAT WILL CHANGE TO SOME DEGREE, BUT FOR NOW, KEEP AWAY FROM MY BABY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!11111

Absolutely. As their mother, it is my resposibility to keep my children safe. If I feel they are in danger, I can become quite the Mama Bear!

Yes! I hate it when strangers touch him especially on his hands and cheeks. It's cold and flu season, why do they think that's okay.

Yes, my children are my babies. I am their mom. I am still probably too protective sometimes.
