Not Oprah, for all the reasons stated above. I think you could write a good speech about all the men and women who are serving in Iraq or Afghanistan. You could talk about the choices they have made and why they have made them. You can go to your City/State recruitment office (or perhaps they have a web address) and obtain information from them.

These people are hero's, they are rebuilding homes, schools, the infrastructure for housing, water, electricity and providing protection and education to the citizens in Iraq and Afghanistan.

I would entitle my speech "Do you know what it takes to be an Influential Person?" Influence involves change, personal courage, discipline and selflessness.

Good luck and I hope I have been able to help.

P.S. It would be super if you could post your speech on this site and obtain comments from the Yahoo Community. I'd certainly be interested in hearing your speech.

No, Oprah is all about Oprah. She gives away money on her show as a tax break. Everything she does is self-promotion, including her school in Africa. It's always "all about Oprah." I realize she has a lot of "childhood" issues with she still copes.

My choice would be Arnold Schwarznegger.
Jack LaLanne
is another good choice.
They BOTH taught people how to be strong and healthy.
