Rap has it's own award show because only those who listen to it can appreciate it. Don't get me wrong, I like Jay-Z, the Beastie Boys, Run DMC and Nas and can appreciate their efforts.
In my opinion, rap now is not what was originally considered rap. We have gangsta rap now. Guys who rap about violence, death and addiction. If this is what rap is supposed to be, give Charles Manson a recording deal. Seems the more screwed up your life is, the more records you sell.
The Beatles are the Beatles, no band or act will ever surpass their contribution to the recording industry.
Stupid indeed.

Awe! I think that people have a right to choose what music they want to listen to, but personally I do not like it much. I listen to it when you find that a rapper may come out with now and then a good song, but most of the time it is very difficult to understand. And most of the time the music has not much sense to it; its just a lot of bragging and boasting and very violent lyrics.

in underground terminology, those that like rap that talks only about money, girls, cars etc are considered "fake" and wack..real hip hop is based on lyrics such as one of the greatest of all time

Rap is awful. >.< The Beatles are definitely better. *nods* I guess this generation of people just have crappy taste in music. lol. (not all, but some....)

Young people usually like what's popular. It's usually "uncool" to like anything that's old or not in the charts.
People in my school used to make fun of me because I liked the Rolling Stones, apparently it was cooler to listen to acid house or Vanilla Ice ;)
Don't worry about them, just listen to whatever makes you happy.

I personally don't even think teens really understand about what good musics are... so for them as long as everyone listen to it.. it's cool....
for them trend is better than the actual quality of the music...

rap has it own award show,rap music is global and loved all over the world,its largest followers are teenagers and if you don't like it,your one of the few.

We'll if EVERYONE likes it so much maybe it they say it cause everyone else likes it so they want to be cool and they say they love it two... but..who knows?
