If the transfer to itunes doesn't work for you, try burning those songs on a CD and the let your itunes software rip them in the right format for your nano.

YES but you dont have to buy itunes...you can use limewire or morpheus and download it and drag it into ur itunes library and then upload it SHWHAT I DO

itunes is the only interface that converts music to a format for ipods, but you can download everything from your comuter or other places through i tuens. its wored great for me. good luck

i would save my music from the other file then on i tunes go to file and go to open file or folder i forget which one.
I do the same thing for limewire.
