It wasn't a bang. It was a fizzle of pure energy. What it expanded out into is sort of beyond our comprehension right now. But, everything that is this Universe, even the spacetime fabric and you and I, are actually composed of that initial 3 second fizzle of energy. Here is a real image that we have recently made of the beginning of the Universe. AND, here also is a real recording of the noise of that first fizzle:
When you have some time, explore the second to last link at the bottom of the page in this article to see accurate models of how the Universe expanded:

This is the radio static of that beginning fizzle:

In the begining there was no space, time, energy, or matter. All the matter was in the form of a singularity with no dimension and near infinite mass. At the moment of the big bang all of the matter was converted to light. "Let there be light" For several seconds nothing existed but space, time and light. As the universe cooled the light converted back to matter.

The big bang was not an explosion but an expansion of time and space. Time started at the big bang so asking what was before the big bang is like asking what is north of the north pole.

The questions in google asks seem to clump around various subjects, this one is probably the most speculative.
Mathematics may never be applied with any success in this case.
But language with the injection of semantics may give some ground on which to speculate and theorize.
It may never get beyond this.

Sorry. As far as we can tell, it was nothing. If there was anything, it's outside of our universe, since we expanded into it. And we can't see outside our universe.
