Apply your mascara first.I use a lot of mascara, then use the curlers that are metal instead of plastic, hold closed tightly and count for 25 to 30 seconds. Lashes will be set into a tight curl. I have used a thick Max Factor mascara for years and get a lot of compliments on my eye lashes. I hope this helps.

I have also heard that it will help if you put the eye lash curler under a hairdryer for about 10 - 15 seconds and then curl the lash. I guess the heat it supposed to help hold the curl. Good luck!

All I do is to keep curling them or just grab a blow dryer like what the other girls said. It works because all my friends say my eyelashes are so curly. I don't apply mascara because it makes your curly eyelashes straight again.

that happens to me, too. what i do is i curl my lashes, then apply mascara, wait for it to dry, then recurl them again. its supposedly not a good idea to curl after applying mascara, so i just curl them really really carefully making sure not to pull my eye out and clean the gunk off my eyelash curler everytime i recurl.
