I am in my 20's and my husband and myself have decided that we want a baby, the bad news, this was over a year ago. I was almost 18 when i was diagnosed with PCOS (Polycystic Ovarian Syndrom). I was told my chances of having kids were almost none. I am looking for any advice or help, dieting tips, herbal remedies, ANYTHING. I am very open minded, i work in a metaphysical store so feel free to give me any advice!!. My husband of five years would fall to the ground in tears in overjoyment if i got pregnant! xox

➔ Trying to Conceive
I was on medication for the first 8 months, but that 8 months of hell. I felt sick all the time, it ****** with my menstral cycle in the most horror of ways. I alive in alaska, and to be honest, i dont think anyone knows how to treat me up hear. I got tired of being a medication guiny pig. So for years now i have been medication free, and trying to altar my life habits. Its easier to start eating fruit than to lie in bed all day because your body feels like it wants to explode. I just couldnt handle the drugs very well. I am having a slight problem with weight, but I havent reached the 'Fat' status yet. I have had one miscarriage since i was diagnosed. And my mother was shocked to hear i had PCOS, because she was diagnosed with it in her early twenties, and she still had me!! So i know its not out the question. Thank you guys for all the advice. I thought i would update some info based on your comments and suggestions!!

I too am in my 20's, and have PCOS. It is possible to conceive with PCOS, it is just a little more difficult for us to conceive then the average fertile women. I have a 4 year old daughter and am currently trying for a second baby. I conceived my daughter using 50 mg clomid, which I took for 3 cycles before conceiving. I am again taking clomid, to help me ovulate, as well as using the Fertility Awareness Method. I highly recommend the book TAKING CHARGE OF YOUR FERTILITY, by Toni Weschler to all women especially those trying to concieve. If you begin using FAM you will be able to determine whether or not you are ovulating. It is also helpful even when on fertility medication because you can learn how to accurately time intercourse. When I was diagnosed with having PCOS I was frustrated, overwhelmed, and felt a little powerless because I knew it wasn't going to be super easy for me to have another baby. However, after reading Toni Weschler's book, and begining to chart my cycles, I began to feel empowered because after all knowledge is power and the book is packed full of information.

I ALSO SUFFER FROM PCOS. I HAVE BEEN TYING TO CONCEIVE FOR 2 YEARS WITH NO LUCK. I JUST RECENTLY STARTED A PLAN OF CHARTING MY BBT, PNV, METFORMIN, AND CLOMID. I ALSO HAD TO TAKE PROVERA TO INDUSE A PERIOD SO THAT I COULD TAKE THE OTHER MEDS. THER ARE A LOT OF OPTIONS OUT THERE FOR YOU THAT WILL HELP YOU TO CONCEIVE. BEST OF LUCK. SO SEARCHING ON THE INTERNET WILL GIVE YOU ALOT OF SUPPORT AND ALSO ALOT OF TREATMENT OPTIONS TO DISCUSS WITH YOUR DR WHEN YOU VISIT NEXT. BEST WISHES TO YOU

Are you on meds for PCOS? That condition can be treated. In addition it makes you slightly more at risk for m/c and a little more difficult to get pregnant but it's not impossible at all. You need to read up a little more on PCOS.. that condition effects 5-10% of ALL WOMEN!
From wiki: "Some data suggest that women with PCOS have a higher risk of miscarriage. Also, many women with PCOS have a difficult time conceiving because of their irregular cycles and lack of ovulation. However, it is possible for these women to have normal pregnancies with the aid of medication - particularly Metformin - and diet."

I was told I had PCOS 8 years ago. I was frustrated and went threw many different infertility treatments. I had a couple m/c and 2 tubal pregnancies before I decided to go see a new doctor and try invitro. I got pregnant right away and now am expecting my baby boy in 3 weeks. Invitro is expensive but my insurance paid 80% so it wasn't so bad. I know the frustration your feeling, me and my husband have been married for over 11 years and we couldn't be more excited for our new baby.

My sister just had a baby with PCOS. Your best bet is fertility treatments. It took my sister about 4-5 years. She tried without drugs first then after a few years on fertility drugs she did get pregnant with a healthy boy.
If you know you have pcos see a good fertility doctor now. And if you are overweight find a doctor that is OK with treating fat women. Fat dose not mean you will not get pregnant.
This is one of the most common forms of infertility. And if you ovulate on medication you will get pregnant.
If you do not get pregnant on clomid then your chances of getting pregnant naturally is about 2% - 3%. Your doctor will then look into other options.
Your husband will also need a semen analysis.

I'm sorry I don't have any remedies for you, but I do have words of encouragement.
My stepsister has PCOS and she conceived at ages 28 and 30. She did have miscarriages, but she now has two healthy boys.
Don't give up!

Giving birth to a new life is indeed a blessing which almost every woman would wish to have. How to get pregnant naturally https://tr.im/hvtx8
Enjoying the feeling of motherhood and raising a family would surely be a couple’s dream. Some get it naturally, while for some others things don’t seem to work as they desire. These reasons which stop a women from conceiving can be due to either physical reasons or truly physiological.

First, I am so sorry for your struggle, but you are not alone. I too suffered from infertility with my husband of 7 years. We lost twins and a baby after going through in vetro fertilizaton. We soon realized that what we REALLY wanted was TO BE PARENTS. We are now "waiting parents", we know now that adoption is our option, and are very excited. You are very young. Unless your doctor advises you to NOT conceive, I would keep trying on your own. The only risk is that you may miscarry again, and I know too that is very emotionally trying on any relationship. Good luck, and God Speed!
