It is impossible for a human to land on Mars so we sent a land rover. So how could you ask when did man land on Mars? I guess you saw a movie and thought we had really made it that far out into space exploration with a space ship and astronaunt.

Only in sci fi. I would recommend reading the Red Mars, Green Mars, Blue Mars trilogy by Kim Stanley Robinson. It is a wonderfully written trilogy about the colonization and terraforming of Mars.

Man/woman did not land on Mars (not yet).
There have been space probes, though. You can probably find this out by going to the NASA website.

A human being has never set foot on Mars. USSR did a flyby mission in the 1960's, and the first touch-down by a machine was in 1971 (but failed to return any data)
