Dreamweaver

Macromedia Dreamweaver is a web development tool, created by Macromedia (now Adobe Systems), which is currently in version 8. Initial versions of the application served as simple WYSIWYG HTML editors but more recent versions have incorporated notable support for many other web technologies such as CSS, JavaScript, and various server-side scripting frameworks. Dreamweaver has enjoyed widespread success since the late 1990s and in 2001 held more than 70% of the HTML editor market. The software is available for both the Mac and Windows platforms, but can also be run on Unix-like platforms through the use of emulation software such as Wine.

Frontpage is no longer supported. Better to compare Dreamweaver to Microsoft's new Expression (http://www.microsoft.com/products/expression/en/web_designer/default.mspx).

Although Expression makes some impressive strides towards enabling more of a web-standards type platform, it's geared more for an ASP-development environment -- great if you're using IIS, not Apache. Out of the box, Dreamweaver offers better, more accessible tools for front-end development.

Dreamweaver is way more powerful if you really want to develop web pages. It's also more intuitive to use and the resulting code is cleaner than the code produced by Frontpage. I would never recommend Frontpage to anyone.

Dont use frontpage... its really bad and not XHTML standard. If you are a beginner learn the code first then use a text editor or WYSIWYG like dreamweaver or CODA You can but them online. Dreamweaver is like 300 i think and coda is less expensive. please dont use frontpage
