for probability, I need to use a graphing calculator, but I lost mine and can't find it. The hw is due tomorrow, and I'm hoping some of you can help. Can you tell me what these equal:

5C4
5C5
5C3
4C3
4C4
3C2
3C3

if you don't know how to get the answer but wanna help anyway (cause your so nice and generous) you go to math, prob, then nCr. I think you have to type in the first # and then do that. Thanks!

You can do these without a calculator.

Two things to remember:

Definition:
nCk = n!/[(n-k)!k!]

and
Symmetry:
nCk = nC(n-k) ( you can see this from the defintion)

Furthermore, nCn = 1 (there's only one way to choose all objects)

nC(n-1) = nC1 = n ( there's n ways to choose one object)

From these and a little multiplication, you can get all your answers.

5C4 = 5C1 = 5
5C5 = 1

for 5C3 = 5*4/2 = 10
