No, I wouldn't care how much extra care or for how long, that is a child and there is a reason God wanted them brought into this world, either to teach me or someone else something. I would love that child and do what I needed to take care of it no matter what.

Hmmm...well, I was taking a look at the answers, and they all seem to be quite strongly that you shouldn't. Well, I have to say that it really depends on the person. You have to weigh a few things. You would have to consider how severe this possible condition would be, and if you want this human being...ignore that its your child...to live with it. If you try to ignore the fact that it is your child, then you will be able to see what you truly think without the prejudice of it being your creation influencing your decision.
You also have to look at, are you, and your partner, if you have one, willing and ready to put in the extra time and effort that that child will receive. Lets face it...unless your rather rich, then people generally cant afford to stay home and let only one parent work. So, if both you, and Ill assume a husband have to work...then who watches the child for the 7 or so hours that your not home. Do you hire a babysitter, or leave him with your parents?? Are they willing to deal with a child who might have extra needs?
You also have to look at your ideals. As you can possibly tell from above, there are people who are strongly against abortion, of any kind...so you must decide if you would feel ethically right to abort.
What do I think about aborting a child on the terms of just a possible birth disorder, well, I have to say...my Darwin, how right you were. We seem to be seeding out the "bad eggs" in an attempt to remove these disorders. The strong survive indeed.
I think its okay to abort, however, I feel that no one should base their entire decision to abort on a possible birth defect. Next thing you know, we'll be deciding what color eyes we want on our children, and specifically keeping the ones who have that color.
Anyway, This is a really complicated topic, and there are a lot of factors which have to be thought about, but Great Question, and dont listen to the person who said that this is too serious of a question for here.

That far along and it's not sounding like something that would their life horrible...I woud not. I wouldn't abort any baby I purposefully got pregnant with any ways because that it was God decided to give me. BUT..I think every woman has the right to make that choice and if it is a choice I had to make I wouldn't abort that late.

Just for the record, they tell everyone these days (everyone that might have a less than respectable income that is) that they see signs that the baby might be born with downs syndrome and that they need to do an amneo. It is a lie!!! Trust God and your baby will be fine. More than Fine.

no way
It still turns out pretty often that the baby is born without the problem. Growth in the womb sometimes just corrects the problem.

No Jennifer!
The child did not ask to have a problem. For some reason it hapened and I would live with this and help my child to live and prosper.

NO!! You already love this person. You'll do whatever you need to do to make their life part of yours. Unless it's GRASSY's kid. Did that ever get resolved?
