Phosphorus can use d-orbital electrons to hybridize with other s- and p-orbitals to form an expanded shell. The same for SF6, which is supposedly impossible but in actuality an unreactive gas.

Nitrogen has more electronegativity than phosphorus,thus: nitrogen will hardly give his 5 valent electron than 3 electrons to fluor.
