The US has not had a Black president, yet. However, Shirley Chissom, a black woman, ran for president in the later part of the 20th century.

I'm guessing you mean the first black presidential **candidate.** That'd be Shirley Chisholm. She ran in 1972 and didn't get much of a following. Jesse Jackson was the second. He ran twice. 1984 and 1988.
