How do you solve and gragh 5x-2y=10. And how do you find the x and y intercept?

5x - 2y = 10
2y = 5x - 10
y = 5/2x - 5

Thus, this is the line with slope 5/2 and y-intercept -5.

Also, by setting y = 0, we get 5/2x = 5, and thus the x-intercept is 2.

5x- 2y = 10
+2y +2y

5x = 10 + 2y
-10 -10

5x -10 = 2y
Divide by 2 both sides

(5x -10)/2 = y

To find the x and y intercept just plug in 0 for x and solve for y and vice versa.

first, rearrange the equation so x is all by itself.

x=10+2y/5

now take the 10+2y/5 and plug it into your starting equation for x. notice you have all y's now.

solve for y with this new equation

take that y value and plug it in for y in the original equation.
yep, you guessed it, solve for x.

now if you want to graph it, take the original equation and rearrange it so that y is by itself. now you have it in y=mx+b form. the b is the y intercept, the m is the slope.

to find the x intercept, take that original equation and let y be zero (0). solve for x and you have your answer

good luck

5x - 2y = 10
-2y = 10 - 5x
2y = 5x - 10
y = 5/2x - 5

For the y intercept, set x to zero and solve...
y = (5/2)(0) - 5
y = -5
For the x intercept, set y to zero and solve...
0 = (5/2)x - 5
5 = (5/2)x
5(2/5) = x
2 = x

for graphing, it must be in the form mx+b=y

m is the slope
b is the y intercept

5x-10= 2y

the slope is 5 and the y intercept is at 10

if you graph it you will see the x intercept is at -2

EASY!!! well u make an xy chart. so put a variable like 0 into x and solve the equation, so that would be (0,-5) and then get another variable and put it in y like 0 again, and that would be (2,0).
so u should plot the graph with (0,-5) and (2,0)!
