I swear thise plant scapes looked like the gardens of Versailles, a very complicated eco-structure. It was not until I looked at the cover that I realized they were in aquariums.

The heavily planted aquariums are some of the hardest to keep. They require lots of light, the right substrate and iron and CO2 suppliments, along with many hours of trimming and cleaning, sometimes on a daily basis. They are called 'Dutch Aquariums', look them up for info on keeping aquarium plants.

Where there's a will, there's a way. I like to make my aquariums as beautiful as possible, sadly, my downfall is my time-limit. I usually don't have loads of time to spend on making a good looking tank. So if you have the time and the patience, go for it. Even if you don't have the plants or whatever, most of the stuff can be made from home supplies, all you really need in the nice plant specimens. Good luck.
