Mind and brain. 2 different things.
Mind power is nuclear in its potential and has capabilities way beyond science and her furtherest imaginations.
Brain is more the nerve centre of a functioning body wher the mind is an evolution of progressive indoctrination and input.
If one cultivates the mind, one can do things superhuman or considered impossible.
When one does such things there will always be plenty of people to say they didnt, or it was a trick.
Some people cannot function without clear boundries and they have shackled minds.
Some will deny the truth if it spat in their eyes.
I had cancer real bad and I went alternative.
I dont have cancer anymore.
I have a jar with 23 tumors in it.
300 photographs, and several very upset doctors who now say I never had cancer at all.
Sometimes the so called experts are the last people one should ask for an opinion.

Mind over matter is absolutely correct. I'm a runner and I've got personal experience with this. I believe veyr strongly that without an intense mental will for something, perhaps nothing great could be achieved. While I;ve been in races, keeping up a mental edge has meant the difference between physical exhaution at the middle of the race or gutting it out and finishing and then collapsing. Make no mistake, the body does collapse, its the mind that doesnt. As I tend to say, pain is discouragement cloaked in discomfort.

RE:
Mind Over matter: Real?
If laughter really does help you get better, then wouldn't that be evidence that mind over matter is real? Is it possible for human beings to control objects with our minds, and are the Mind and the Brain the same, if not then what is the difference and what do they have in common?
Please...

There's a different between being able to affect your own body with your psychological state, and being able to affect the world outside your body telekinetically.
According to Abnormal Psychology by Sue, Sue, and Sue (I'm not kidding. The authors are related to each other), people's psychological state can affect their bodies in various ways:
- Conversion Disorder: A person experiences a loss of function, such as blindness or paralysis, that has no physical cause but is caused purely by the mind. This has been verified by experiments.
- Stress: Those who have control over their situation are healthier than those who have no control. An experiment was done with rats: There is a cage with a switch and a rat and a cage with a rat. An electric current shocks the mice at random intervals. The rat in the cage with the switch can turn off the shock with the switch. The rat without the switch has no control over the shock. This experiment was performed with many rats infected with cancerous cells. Cancer developed significantly more in the rats without control than the rats who were in control.
- Biofeedback: People with conditions such as high blood pressure (for example) are placed in a room with a light. They have sensors attached to their bodies. They are told to keep the light from coming on. Unknown to them, the light turns on when their blood pressure goes down. They become able to keep the light off. They become able to subconsciously control "involuntary" body functions.
Since the brain and the body are after all part of the same organism, and the brain already consciously controls "voluntary" functions and unconsciously controls "involuntary" functions, it's not too much of a stretch to suggest that the mind controls more than what we already know about.
Does this support telekinesis? NOT AT ALL! The human body is a closed system, and changes within it can affect all parts and functions. The only way you can affect matter outside the body is by walking up to it and hitting it.

You're confusing the meaning of mind over matter. It refers to the minds ability to overcome physical problems, specifically, injuries. Yes it really works and is very real. As for people being able to move objects with their mind-well-that questions over my head. It would not surprise me to find out it has been done, but I have no personal knowledge one way or the other.
I would google "telekinesis" and see what shows up.

If laughter is the best medicine for the soul, learning to laugh at ones self must be the cure..........Science can prove that people whom have a positive outlook in life are more healthy than those whom are more depressed or anxious. In fact, many "functional" syndromes are caused for the most part due to over-sensitized connections to the areas of the brain where stress, fear-emotion and anxiety are processed. Mind over matter, indeed! The mind is philosophical (logical and abstract) and the brain is biological (a living machine); its up to you to discover where one ends and the other begins.

Mind controls Matter, simply because, your mind had a conscience and matter does not. It's been said be careful that your own possession will posses you, which means the matter controls you mind, as a reflection, is to have a weak mind.

Extremely. Nothing exists without the mind. For all I know, nothing does exist but my mind. For simply it is only my mind translating the world around me. I wouldn't know any better if the world was fake, you see. Like the matrix or what not. Therefore, it's clear that mind over matter is real.

Yes, the mind can certainly aid the physical body to heal itself/maintain wellness That's been documented many times, and cited by several of the respondents above.
Can the mind physically effect objects outside of the body?
I believe so.
As a practicing martial artist (we never really master this thing...), I have broken cement slabs and bricks with the side of my hand.
*It defies physics.
*There was no "preparation" of the above-mentioned cement/ bricks.
*I broke the center knuckle of my right hand while trying to break a pine board with my fist (technically a much stronger technique).
*I've been tossed around like a stuffed T-bear by people less than half my weight (I weigh a bit over 200 lbs) by practitioners of Aikido (thankfully they were good friends!). There was NO leverage or tripping or very overt momentum (i.e, running/jumping on my part) used.
The Japanese/Chinese martial arts concepts of Ki(Japanese)/Chi (Chinese), and San Shin are integral to the study of this phenomenon.
Have A Nice Day!

I think the mind is a lot stronger than it is seen to be
In my Psychology textbook, it mentioned an experiement led by Janet Kiecolt-Glaser
She gave 13 caretakers for relatives of Alzheimer's disease
and 13 control participants standardized small wounds on their skin. On average, the Alzheimer's caretakers, who experience stress, took 9 days longer for their wounds to heal
There are other experiments mentioned where they show how much negative thinking and stress leads to poor health
