Sort of like that convict down South suing for Kosher meals. Eat, and be happy that you have food on your table.
I am a very devout vegetarian, but if I was starving, and someone gave me a ham sandwich, I would "pork". Beggars can't be chosers.

I'd say that offering free food which only some groups will eat should not be illegal.
It may be bigoted, or motivated by cruelty, but it's a gift!
This is no more illegal than allowing pork to be sold at all, or allowing liquor to be sold - which also offends many Muslims.
It's possible that the whole giveaway was motivated by improper motives, but honestly I am far more concerned by the law stepping in.
That would be like prohibiting the giveaway of condoms because it offends some Christians - that has been done too, but should not be illegal.
No one has the right not to be offended!

If that soup kitchen program is racist, then so are all the U.S.'s Affirmative Action programs.
Besides, it's a well-known fact and not just a stereotype that Jews and Muslims the world over are generally less poor in countries where they are minorities than other minorities like Blacks and Latinos.

well... I don't know about racist exactly...
but it says that it's a nationalist organization... so I'm partially inclined to believe that it may not be an accident that they serve it...
perhaps not a blatant racist action... but there could be racist motivations behind it...
it would be kind of like handing out clothes at a shelter that say in big letters "God is dead"... or "Jesus was a (insert slur here)"...
while you aren't refusing anyone... it's questionable motives... especially for a group that would seem to have a motive for their actions...
but regaurdless... it doesn't sound like it's government sponsored... so, I don't think it really matters...

I guess shrimp salad would definitely be out then.Way too PC.If it was only offered in a Muslim or Jewish neighborhood I might say it was.You feed the hungry with what you have,I don't believe there was a racist intent.I could be wrong but I would need a hell of a lot of proof.

It probably wasn't meant to be racist, but if there are many Jewish or Muslim people using the soup kitchen perhaps they could offer two types of soup in order to help more people. Pork soup doesn't sound all that nutritious anyway.

While the group may have racist intentions, I don't see it as being racist just because they are only offering pork soup. I also don't agree with the courts saying that the distribution is "clearly discriminatory".

Maybe this is the only food that they have to offer...maybe it is donated by a pig farmer...in this case of course it is not racist...But if they deliberately are choosing only food that includes pork, for the deliberate reason of excluding Jews and Muslims then of course it is racist....I think it is all about the intent...For example...lets say I had 2 boxes of books in my basement and I wanted to do something good with it...so I take it down to the local charity...unfortunately about a third of the kids there speak only Spanish and these books are written only in English. Now, my intent was to do something good with what I had to offer...there was no intent to be exclusive...it just worked out that some benefited from my gift and some didn't.

Truly hungry people will not complain about the source of their food, they will be greatfull for it. I suspect the complaints came from a well fed group of trouble makers.

No, not at all. Just someone stirring up trouble, I thought this sort of thing only happened here in the states. Gee, you mean maybe the USA has something in common with France?
