My new website is getting tons of hits, but nobody is signing up for the forum. I would really like to run a successful forum, how do I get people to sign up and post in a forum where I am the only member so far?

maybe you should tell your friends to join and tell them to spread the news

With new sites people will usually never be of the first to post. You should get friends to post there so that it looks active and then random visitors will start joining in and slowly your site will become more active every day.

Im having the same problem also. Lol. soo far ive posted my website on yahoo answers=). lol. And i spent the day going into chat rooms trying to find people who could relate to my issue. I didnt get many people but its only the first day. I also tried facebook and myspace. Good luck.

Tell your friends and get them to tell there friends and you could add an edit to the link to the website to this and more people would see it.

tell people more about your site. put up some advertising stuff like that. it depends on what your site is on too.
