What music should I listen to while I'm doing my homework?

I want to feel relaxed while I do my homework, but not so relaxed that I might want to go to sleep.

I would play music that you enjoy. I'm not going to name a certain genre because I don't know what you like. One thing - try not to choose songs/a CD that has catchy lyrics. I get really sidetracked sometimes while listening to music while doing homework when I start singing the song. lol. If you don't want to fall asleep however, I would NOT choose classical music. During tests, one of my teachers plays it, and I pretty much fall asleep while taking a TEST.

I have found that something that you have listened to many times will let you relax and focus on homework. New material will distract you because you are still figuring it out. I can be relaxed listening to Metallica or Blind Guardian, you might need to listen to Gwen Stefani or some rap. The point is to break in music first.

Sometimes I do, but when I do it distracts me so much. Like, usually I'll end up singing along or writing the words down on my paper instead of writing what I'm trying to.. Haha. But music is amazing.

well, if you're into marching band or jazz band or concert band or any of that, you could listen to that kind of music. pick an upbeat piece, but not something that makes you want to get out a baton and start tapping along with the beat ;)

i suggest no words as well; if you try to sing, you might end up accidentally writing the lyrics instead of your vocab words :)
