The 6 or 9-cell just tells how many cells are in the batter. Typically, the more cells the longer the battery will last.

The 53 or 80 WHr also tells you how long the better will last. I believe WHr stands for watt hours. Just as a ball park estimate, 53 WHr would be about 5 hours. 80WHr would be around 8 hours. This ofcourse depends on the computer and usage. Typically, the numbers are less than advertised.

"Cells" are the power storage units in the batteries. The more cells, the better. The two bottom ones I am sure you figured out is where you get 2 batteries with your purchase so that if you are traveling and your primary dies, you can switch it out with the backup. The average life of a 9-cell battery by dell, assuming you are using the laptop to do things such as browse internet and write in word without shutting the PC down or starting it is about 1 hour and 45 min.

Hope this helps!

P.S. - If available, you should go with a 12 cell battery

The first and last ones are the best. The bigger cell number, the better. 9-cell is REALLY good. I don't know what it means, though.

Good luck with the right battery!

9 cell batteries are best and usually last about 4 hours when new and fully cahrged.

Basically...the more cells, the more power it can hold and the longer it will last.
